Sponsor a Student at Juanita School

This is the best way to support the students at Juanita School and the school in general. Juanita School currently has 98 students enrolled with more expected in May. You can choose to adopt and sponsor one of our students for only $100 a month or $1200 a year. This amount will cover their education, food and boarding expenses at Juanita School. You can read a brief background of each students here:                         Meet out Students →

Juanita School's Textbooks Project

With more students expected to join Juanita School, we need classroom materials like textbooks, notebooks, and pens. For only $18 a textbook, we can have enough textbooks for all the students in the classroom.

Juanita School's Boarding Furniture Project

We want to provide Juanita School’s students with a sage and secure place to board as they continue to learn. We will need dormitory furniture like beds, mattresses and bedding for students as they continue to join Juanita School. It only costs $12 for 1 pillow and 2 pillow cases for our students. $20 enables us to but 1 set of bed sheets for our students. The student’s bunk beds are made right on the school and it costs $150 to make one set.

Juanita School Farm Project

On the way to being a self-sustainable school, Juanita School students each what is grown on the Juanita School farm instead of buying food from the market. We are currently growing corn (maize), beans, spinach, kale, tomatoes, cabbages, and other fruits and vegetables. We also have farm animals like chicken, goats and rabbits which are used for eggs, milk and meat supply. For only $10, we can buy one chicken for eggs supply. For $20, we can buy a pair of breeding rabbits for the school’s meat supply. $50 buys a goat for both meat and milk supply for the school.

Juanita School's Vacation Bible School Pennies

Adding one penny to another and another allows Juanita School for Girls to purchase farm animals, desks, beds, and textbooks for students. Pennies allow girls to go to school because in Kenya, students have to pay for their education after the eighth grade.

Juanita School Technology Project

Most schools in Kenya don’t have access to the latest technology or the internet. We want Juanita School to be at the forefront of technology-based learning environments in the country. We will need a computer lab with modern, fast and reliable computers, all with an internet connection. We also need other technology devices like projectors, smart boards and printers to help integrate modern learning ways in the classroom.

Juanita School Dairy Goat Farm Project

Juanita School for Girls will soon embark on a new farm project—a goat dairy farm to supply milk to the student body, and potentially eventually to the local community.
Adding the dairy also expands the school’s curriculum in animal husbandry, bookkeeping, and business.

According to school headmaster Jacinta Chengecha, “raising goats is also much cheaper than raising cows.”
