The Kenya Situation
In 2021, according to the Kenya National Examinations Council, Kenya graduated 1,179,192 8th grade students. Graduates, 500,000 of them do not have a high school to attend. These young girls cannot afford school fees or no school is available.
Girls, because they have no future, suffer from depression and are sold into sex trade or turn to alcohol, or drugs. Girls are left without a hope and about 11% commit suicide. These students have no parent, church, or convention to speak for them. They are a lost generation without hope!
Juanita’s School for Girls offer hope!
Mission
The mission of The Heron Fund is to be the financial, spiritual, and emotional support for Juanita School for Girls. We are providing a 21st century Christian valued education where; upon graduation, a student is to be self-supporting, prepared for a university scholarship, a job, or a trade.
Vision
Our vision is to mold Juanita School for Girls into a Christian valued school that will become self-sufficient while offering scholarships to the under privileged.
In addition to providing a high quality high school education, we seek to establish an endowment providing college scholarship opportunities.
We will accomplish our mission by adhering to our core values and by following our guiding principles. We will follow accountable leadership practices and be grateful and responsive to those who support our mission financially and as volunteers. Through God’s grace and mercy we will provide young women hope and a productive future.
